Charles Le Maire designed costumes, with Mark Mooring, for the 1925 Greenwich Village Follies, having designed the costumes for the revue's more famous rival, the Ziegfeld Follies, a year earlier. He began his design career for theater in the 1920's and later worked in film, becoming the director of wardrobe at 20th Century Fox Studios from 1942-1960. Pencil and water color costume designs, some with fabric swatches attached, for female performers in the revue Greenwich Village Follies. The designs are identified by the names of performers, individual acts in the revue, and the kind of outfit being designed. Many are signed and dated by Le Maire and include instructions to the costume makers.
